MISSION STATEMENT
Florida East Coast Dachshund Club shall encourage and promote quality in the breeding of pure-bred dachshunds and do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. The Club shall urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which dachshunds shall be judged. The Club shall do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, field trials, den trials, and the like. The Club shall conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, field trials, den trials, and the like under the rules of The American Kennel Club. The Club shall recognize The Dachshund Club of America as our parent club and assist and cooperate with The Dachshund Club of America in any way possible for the development of pure-bred dachshunds.
Our club was founded by Charles Davis & Maryjane Davis of Perro Largo Kennel, Louis Derteen, and Jane (Elizabeth) VanValen of Jandelo Kennel.
